Day 62 Para Anchor Again!
Original article · 20 June 2009
Well we are trapped again in a north westerly getting blown south east we have the para anchor holding our position as we fight not to go east.  We were heading south west last night but that has all changed as we hit a weather system, so we're stuck in this shitty situation until Tuesday/Wednesday next week and we've just got to sit it out..........................very frustrating and there is no point in rowing. Flying Ferkins is holding up well,  thank you Rossiters, she's doing all she should and we are quite safe and comfortable on board at times like these.  We manage to keep clothes dry for the cabin as we are often getting a soaking while rowing.  Our spirits are still high and we are going to make it though it could be early August before we hit the Mauritian coast. We are left with lots of time to think and my list of things to be bought out to Mauritius grows!!  Along with the Haribo the clippers are the most important item - Man Friday has nothing on me! So as we prepare to hang on in there waiting for this system to pass we're thinking of you all and again can't thank everyone enough for all the support we are getting it really is awesome.  Thank you. Talking of clippers Andy ~ Have you taken any photo' shots of yourselves yet? Pity you can't post any back for all to see..... The men on the Prostate boat have a 1000nmiles TO GO celebration shot of their hunky chunky bodies.(well heads n shoulders, not knees and toes!!) Tx

That must be really frustrating. But at least you guys can give your bodies some rest time, have you got any other dvd's that you have not watched? Or a game of cards!! You guys are amazing xx

At least you are halfway home. Well done. No clipping until you have taken photos. You must both look like the wild men from Borneo - if you know who they are! Keep those chins up - if they are not too heavy with whiskers. We are all willing you on with fingers crossed. B.& B.

I believe we are forced to stop sometimes, & although you really want to row on maybe you are actually being averted from something weatherwise that would not be kind to you, if you see what I mean! A bit deep maybe but I always look at a negative situation to find the opposite & it always works!Your intentions are good & your endurance is being fully tested. So many of us are sending you positive thoughts as we are so proud. You also may never have this sort of time alone (in your lives)to think etc again & boring as it is I am sure your experiences are building up so much good that you are not aware of. Here endeth the 1st lesson! On a lighter note lots of hugs & hope you are able to laugh alot !! Rox xxx

Just got back from a few days away to find you have passed the half-way mark. Belated congratulations - it is brilliant news. I know you are becalmed at the moment but you have done so well already you deserve a bit of a rest!! The time until Mauritius and August will soon go - it is already passed Midsummer Day. Keep going, we are all willing you on. Jenny & Peter & all the family.

Guy thanks for the card great to see that you are back on the move again. Did you catch up on your sleep when you were on the para anchor? What is your normal number of hours of sleep each day? Is it still wet and cloudy? Keep working hard the miles are dropping away now. Nigel
