Day 18 A bit more of the same!
Original article · 7 May 2009
Pretty much the same out here for the past 24 hours that word boring comes to mind again!  The waters are calmer and we have been constantly rowing 2 hours on and 2 hours off and mixing that with 2 hours rowing together making steady progress.  Everything is up beat and feeling pretty good.   The weather is calmer  fewer swells 10 knot winds so we are drying off nicely too - for the past week the  sun has been shining and so we are fully charged up playing plenty of music to keep us bobbing along - U2 Achtung Baby has done it for us today!   We see fewer seabirds now that we are further away from the shore but we are still visited by flying fish perhaps we could learn some techniques from them!  Some of the food is a little more interesting, it's repetitive and we really can't get excited about it but it's doing the trick.   Whoops no we haven't taken any photos yet! Achtung Baby! U2's best album. Have been reading your blog, chaps. Glad to hear all is going well - you're doing yourselves proud! Guy, is it wrong that the thought of you naked with a sore bottom makes me quiver? Keep on rowing! 'Clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose!' Friday Night Lights

I have contacted Woodvale this afternoon as there has been some concern and frustration as to why Flying Ferkins position has not been updated for nearly 48 hours - it seems that there is a problem their end and Woodvale are hoping that Andrew and Guy will respond to their message so that they can talk through what the problem is. They are both fine - I've had a message from Andrew today - and hopefully when their position shows again they will be streaks ahead!! They could of course be in practice as a stealth missile..................!!!

I suppose that if you have to listen to U2 the middle of the ocean is the best place - but as long as it keeps you rowing then fair enough. Great progress guys, keep it up.

" I remember you well, in a Chelsea hotel, talking so brave and so sweet........(lovely job)!" Speaking of Chelsea........you boys will love to see the highlights of that game when you get back. At least Arsenal lost gracefully. Achtung (Berlin) Baby!

when you get there is it going to be like the end of 'we are the champions' where everyone used to throw all the floats into the water and jump in?

John says how about some class music - he suggests Sweet!! Bet that's not on your ipod. I'm in the Leonard Cohen camp - must be genetic. Sounds as if the rowing is going well. Do you just chuck the flying fish back in?? Not worth eating?? Great to read your blog, how are the beards coming along? Keep up the good progress.
