TWO FRIENDS - ONE BOAT - ONE WORLD RECORD

Commencing: 19th April 2009 at 11:00am
From: Geraldton, Western Australia
Finishing: Mauritius, Indian Ocean
Distance: 3,780 nautical miles

It's a massive undertaking as you can imagine; rowing some 3,780 nautical miles, over 90days, across what are very treacherous waters and weather systems! Only five people have ever done so; by way of contrast over 660 people have climbed Everest. When we succeed in doing so we will be the first pair ever to cross it; and the youngest - at 25 - as well. So two world records! Along the way we will encounter mountainous waves, whales, sharks, swarms of jellyfish and temperatures exceeding 40 degrees.

The fundraising effort is huge. We need to raise £76,000 to compete, with all further proceeds going to Orchid, www.orchid-cancer.org.uk - the only UK charity solely dedicated to the fight against male cancers; prostate, penile and testicular (our total target is £100,000 with £25,000 of this going to charity).
