TWO FRIENDS - ONE BOAT - ONE WORLD RECORD

Commencing: 19th April 2009 at 11:00am
From: Geraldton, Western Australia
Finishing: Mauritius, Indian Ocean
Distance: 3,780 nautical miles

It's a massive undertaking as you can imagine; rowing some 3,780 nautical miles, over 90days, across what are very treacherous waters and weather systems! Only five people have ever done so; by way of contrast over 660 people have climbed Everest. When we succeed in doing so we will be the first pair ever to cross it; and the youngest - at 25 - as well. So two world records! Along the way we will encounter mountainous waves, whales, sharks, swarms of jellyfish and temperatures exceeding 40 degrees.

The fundraising effort is huge. We need to raise 76,000 to compete, with all further proceeds going to Orchid, www.orchid-cancer.org.uk - the only UK charity solely dedicated to the fight against male cancers; prostate, penile and testicular (our total target is 100,000 with 25,000 of this going to charity).
